UNINCORPORATED CEDAR LAKE, Ind. (WLS) -- A single-engine plane made an emergency landing Sunday afternoon in a farm field near Cedar Lake in northwest Indiana.

The pilot was the only person on board and was not injured. The plane was headed to Griffith Airport.

The crash occurred at about 2:15 p.m. near 145th Avenue east of State Line Road in unincorporated Cedar Lake.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office said engine problems may be the cause.
