CHICAGO (WLS) -- Stanley Wrice, who spent 30 years behind bars for a crime he did not commit, will have his record formally cleared.

The court is expected to give Wrice his certificate of innocence Tuesday.

The certificate formally recognizes he is innocent and expunges his record of the crime. Wrice was released from prison in December for a sexual assault he did not commit.

Wrice says detectives under former police commander Jon Burge tortured him into confessing.
