Five people were injured after two cars crashed into a fire hydrant, sending water everywhere Saturday morning in the West Loop.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Five people were injured after two cars crashed into a fire hydrant, sending water everywhere Saturday morning in the West Loop.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Randolph and Jefferson streets.

Five people were hospitalized in serious condition, the Chicago Fire Department said.

It is not known what caused the crash. Crews eventually shut off the water to the hydrant.
