Ring in the New Year with Countdown Chicago

Nostalgic for a Guy Lombardo New Year's or Big Band swing? How about sampling music from the likes of Frank Sinatra or country music sensation Bucky Covington? And who wants to miss the debut of the new "Dancing with the ABC 7 Stars" duo as they take a whirl around the dance floor!

Join co-hosts Janet Davies and Mark Giangreco along with Lou Canellis, Michelle Alegria, Doug Banks and Bill Campbell as they bring the excitement of New Year's Eve home to viewers with a tour of some of the best hot spots Chicago has to offer in COUNTDOWN CHICAGO, a live, HD special airing Monday, December 31 from 11:08 PM-12:15 AM on ABC 7.

It's the biggest party night of the year and ABC 7 viewers once again will have front row seats to all the fun, entertainment and hoopla that are part of this city's New Year's Eve tradition. Davies and Giangreco will sweep you off your feet as they feature the seamless grace of ballroom dancing and the big band sound of the Teddy Lee Orchestra, live at the Willowbrook Ballroom.

Michelle Alegria will add her signature sparkle to the Mercury Theater in Chicago while spotlighting Ron Hawkings and his show "The Men and their Music." Hawkings vocal stylings transports listeners back to the time when great singers like Frankie Valli and Frank Sinatra made unforgettable music.

Lou Canellis will toast the New Year with country music's new breed of performers -- American Idol's Bucky Covington, Luke Bryan and Keith Anderson ? belting out their crowd pleasing hits.

And if country's not your thing, the alternative crowd can look forward to Bill Campbell at the Hyatt Hotel O'Hare where "Everclear" and a Chicago favorite, "The Smoking Popes" will be rocking in 2008.
