A new study of 60 California couples found that women who are content with their marriage tend to bounce back better after a bad day on the job. University of California researchers measured the couple's levels of stress hormones. All of the spouses had full-time jobs, as well as two to three children and a mortgage. After a stressful day at work, the hormone levels faded fastest in happily married wives. On the other hand, husbands' stress levels stayed high in the evening, even for those in happy marriages.
