A Chicago man has pleaded not guilty to killing Nailah Franklin.

The 28-year old woman was reported missing September 19, 2007. Her body was found days later in south suburban Calumet City.

Reginald Potts is charged with murder and kidnapping. The two had dated for a while.

In court Friday, Potts told the judge if he couldn't find an attorney he liked, he would represent himself. Potts also asked the judge to impose a gag order on prosecutors, police and Franklin's family, but the judge refused.
