Black lights at airport to help find fake IDs

Starting this month, a handheld black light will be used to examine driver's licenses and other passenger ID cards. The small wands help spot forgeries or tampering by illuminating holograms that are a security measure on licenses and passports.

Passengers with suspicious documents can then be questioned by police or immigration agents.

This is the latest change as the Transportation Safety Administration takes the task of checking IDs from airline-hired security guards.
