Report: Chicago leads 2016 Olympic bid

Chicago leads the competition in the contest to host the 2016 Summer Olympics, according to an online Olympic publication called "Around The Rings." The site gives Chicago the edge when it comes to cost, security and transportation.

Chicago is tied with others when it comes to accommodations, ambiance, and venue plans.

Out of 110 possible points, "Around The Rings" gives Chicago's bid 79 points. Madrid and Rio De Janeiro tie for second, followed closely by Tokyo.

Around the Rings finds significant challenges in the bids of Baku, Azerbaijan, Doha, Qatar and Prague.

The International Olympic Committee is now reviewing plans and will eliminate several contenders this summer.
