VALPARAISO, IN Engstrom Jewelers of Valparaiso, Indiana ran a promotion for jewelry purchased between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
They promised refunds to customers if more than four inches of snow fell on the first day of the year.
Four-point-nine inches fell on January 1.
