'Future City' contests for Chicago area students

The students participated in the 'Future City' competition and displayed their models at a University of Illinois at Chicago building on South Wolcott.

Chicago-area engineers judged the students' creations.

Participants were given awards for categories like 'most livable city' and 'best transportation system.'

The team from Franklin Middle School in Wheaton won the top prize Saturday. The winners will travel to Washington, DC later in January for the national finals.
