The massive police presence spilled into the surrounding community as investigators looked for the suspect. The news shocked neighbors.
"How can someone, any decent human being, take a life like that?" Angela Taylor, shopper.
"It's scary it could happen in your neighborhood," said Karen Homann, shopper.
"It scares me a lot. I come here every day with my sister and my nephew and niece. We live so close. What if we're the next victims? It makes us not want to come here because we don't know what the police are doing about it," Dorothy Viatkus, a Tinley Park resident, said.
"I'm wondering what the mayor is going to do about the increased crime along I-80. It's really increasing," Charlotte Vaitkus said.
