Seniors looking to get free mass transit rides are facing a challenge. When calling pre-registration telephone hotlines, many are getting busy signals. But transit officials say most people in the Chicago area have nothing to worry about.

If they already have an RTA reduced fare card, they are all set and can start riding for free on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th.

Those who do not have a reduced fare card need to go to the RTA's service center or any of 270 other sites in the RTA service area.
