He died January 31when enemy fire struck the building he was in.
The Patriot Guard riders escorted his body from Lewis university Airport in Romeoville Sunday morning to a funeral home in Blue Island.
Two funerals are planned. One is scheduled for Monday in Blue Island and another for later in the week in Galena, where Schultz will be buried.
David Schultz is survived by his wife and a 7-month-old son.
After his death, the military promoted Schultz from first lieutenant to captain.
