CHICAGO --U.S representatives from Illinois are pushing legislation they say will reduce I.D. thefts from stolen Social Security information.Representatives Mark Kirk and Peter Roskam showed off their version of an enhanced Social Security card that would include a photo, fingerprint and electronic bar code information of the holder.
The cards would be tamper and weather resistant. The bill's sponsors say it's a simple matter of national and personal security.
Representatives Kirk and Roskam planned to introduce the legislation to Congress Tuesday.
