Continental axes paper boarding passes

Passengers no longer need to carry paper boarding passes on one airline. People flying on Continental Airlines can now use cell phones and other handheld devices as paperless boarding passes.

Once passengers check in, a bar code is put on their cell phones. That code is then scanned at the gate right before boarding a flight.

Continental began testing the e-boarding pass option at some airports back in December. It will be available for all Continental flights next month.
