$227M in improvements proposed for CTA

Mayor Daley unveiled the plan Thursday morning.

Two-hundred twenty-seven million dollars from Washington will be used to help target various passenger complaints.

As part of the plan, the CTA will reduce slow zones on tracks. The transit authority will improve communication with riders by sending email alerts and installing new electronic platform signage

The money will also be used for rubber rail ties that will help bring down the noise trains make.
