Officer Richard T. Schmidt allegedly resisted police instructions and attacked two officers and a paramedic after his arrest following a bar fight.
Forest Park Police responded to a tavern fight Saturday night in the 7500-block of West Madison Street and encountered Schmidt intentionally breaking furniture at the business. The alleged attacks all happened after his arrest and transport to Forest Park Police station.
Schmidt appeared in bond court Monday where he was ordered held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. He has been relieved of his duties with the Chicago Police Department pending an investigation.
