BELVIDERE --There's additional police at the Belvidere Chrysler plant because of threats at the facility. Police would not give details into the threats but they suspect it may be connected to the shutdown of the third shift at the plant. More than a thousand workers will lose their jobs once the third shift ends Friday.
Illinois state police and Boone County sheriff's police will be helping Belivdere police patrol the sprawling auto plant Thursday morning.
Chrysler officials say they are also investigating possible vandalism at the assembly plant.
