Southwest suburban Tinley Park is beefing up its budget by a quarter of a million dollars to help pay investigators working overtime to catch the gunman in the Lane Bryant shootings. So far, the investigation has cost the village more than $110,000.

Money is also needed to process evidence and pay hotel rooms for detectives pursuing out of town leads. Two hundred fifty thousand dollars has been budgeted for the new fiscal year, which begins May 1.

Village officials say the cash would come from the hotel-motel tax.

Five women were shot and killed at the Lane Bryant store on February 2. A sixth woman survived.
