Lake County judge orders convicted drug dealer to Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, Ind. Twenty-six-year-old Timothy Sandifer was sentenced March 7th on three counts of dealing cocaine in Lake County.

Lake Superior Judge Clarence Murray said he decided to order Sandifer to serve his probation in Lafayette because being around his family will keep him from committing another crime.

Tippecanoe County Prosecutor Pat Harrington says his office has contacted the Lake County prosecutor's office to get more information about the sentencing order.

The Associated Press left a message for Sandifer's attorney, Garry Weiss, seeking comment.
