Google jumped in on a proposal Monday pushing the Federal Communications Commission to utilize the so called "white space" in the airwaves between broadcast channels to broadcast the internet to the entire US.

Google is proposing an enhanced system to prevent wi-fi devices that are operating in the "white space" from interfering with adjacent television channels.

Google and Microsoft are part of a coalition of technology companies lobbying the FCC to allow unlicensed use of white space spectrum for wi-fi technology.
