A permanent memorial was dedicated at Crane High School Sunday in honor of slain student Ruben Ivy.Shoe imprints were made in concrete in front of the school to honor Ivy, who was killed March 7. A 15-year-old has been charged in his death.

Another teenager was beaten badly that same day. That boy's father gave a sermon Sunday at the New Inspirational Church on the city's West Side calling for parents to help their children end the cycle of violence.

"The streets are raising the children, and once we maintain the streets and then get productive role models, then you'll make an impact on what it is you're trying to accomplish," he said.

A number of groups and organizations are working to stop the violence in the Chicago area. You can learn more by clicking here.
