Gator causes delays on Florida road

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. The gator was hanging out on the right side of State Road Seven near the overpass to Florida's turnpike. Traffic was limited to a single lane while Broward Sheriff's Office deputies monitored the gator.

They used their squad cars to block it from crossing the road. An officer with the Florida Fish And Wildlife Conservation Commission used a rope to lasso the gator around the neck. The 400 pound gator tossed and turned while four men tried to hold him down . They duct-taped the gator's snout shut and tied down its limbs before putting the seven foot gator into the back of a truck.

The gator will be returned safely to the wild.
