HARVEY, Ill. --More than a dozen people were left homeless after a fire raced through their south suburban apartment building. The fire started in the basement of the building, which is located along Calumet Boulevard in Harvey, late Thursday night.
Twelve children and eight adults lived inside. They all got out safely. But because of the extensive damage to the apartments, they are not being allowed back into their homes.
Fire investigators are trying to determine a cause.
