Edens construction creates traffic headaches

April 7, 2008 8:24:07 AM PDT
Commuters from the north suburbs are at the start of months of traffic headaches. On the Edens Expressway, Monday was the first morning rush hour inbound traffic was down to two lanes for the $43-million rehab project. Traffic was slow and Illinois Department of Transportation says to watch out for merges between Lawrence and Lake Cook Road to keep the traffic flowing.

The project is expected to be finished in August. I-DOT suggests using an alternate route from the Edens whenever possible.
