Yoga may help older women walk faster and stand taller.

In a recent study, 24 women over the age of 65 did an hour-and-a-half of yoga twice a week for more than 2 months. Researchers found that after 9 weeks the women found measureable improvements in their walking speed, had better balance and, on average, gained a centimeter in height.

The findings were presented this month at the Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society's annual meeting.
