Online banking appears to be improving.

A new survey conducted online by Foresee Results and Forbes.com finds that customer satisfaction with banking Web sites is up 12 percent from five years ago. The survey found customers are more comfortable with online banking.

Other factors included improvements in bank Web site security and an increase in the types of transactions offered online.

Satisfaction is not as high for banks overall, suggesting that customers are happier with online services than they are with bank branches and call centers.
