Sweeney Todd dinner-theater package at Lawry's

Carvers at Lawry's The Prime Rib are sharpening their knives for the Sweeney Todd Dinner-Theatre Package on Sunday, May 4.

The themed dinner will be sliced and served up at Lawry's (100 E. Ontario St.) for $135 per person (includes tax and gratuity). Guests will first enjoy the demon barber of Fleet Street in the widely acclaimed musical thriller, Sweeney Todd, at 2 p.m. at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, followed directly by a themed dinner at Lawry's.

Act Two
Lawry's Original Spinning Bowl Salad
Sour Dough Bread & Sweet Cream Butter

Intermission
"Blood Orange" Intermezzo

Lawry's "Special Cut" of Prime Rib of Beef, Au Jus
Whipped Cream Horseradish
Yorkshire Pudding
Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Choice of Creamed Spinach, Creamed Corn or Buttered Peas

Lawry's The Prime Rib, Chicago

Miniature Meat Pies
(as inspired by Mrs. Lovett's Fine Baked Goods)

Defrost 4 sheets Puff Pastry ? available from the freezer section of the grocery

Lightly sauté in Olive Oil

1/2 cup finely diced Carrots

1/2 cup finely diced Celery

1/2 cup finely diced Yellow Onion

Set aside

Sauté 1 1/2 pounds Lean Ground Beef, drain

Prepare Lawry's Gravy Mix per instructions (available in your local grocery)

Combine vegetables, beef and 1 1/2 cup Lawry's Gravy with 1/4 teaspoon Lawry's Seasoned Salt. Simmer for five (5) minutes.

Spray muffin pan with non-stick spray. Line each muffin mold with puff pastry. Add meat mixture. Top each mold with a circle of puff pastry (to adhere top pastry to bottom, lightly brush edges with lightly whipped egg and pinch edges together,)

Bake 10 to 15 minutes in a pre-heated 375 degree oven.
