Ark. Lt. Gov. makes fire rescue

PARAGOULD, Ark. Lieutenant Governor Bill Halter was on his way to meet with the mayor of Paragould, Arkansas, when he saw smoke billowing from a house.

The woman's daughter was having trouble getting her out of the burning home after she fell out of her wheelchair. So Halter, a member of his staff and a state trooper sprang into action.

"The elderly woman could not transport herself. She's coming out of a wheelchair. She literally can't walk. That smoke was coming out, the next thing you know, there was fire coming out. So we dragged her off the porch, got her clear of the building and the fire really erupted at that point," said Halter.

Everyone got out safely. No one suffered serious injuries.
