JOLIET --A new campaign is underway to cut down on underage drinking. Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow announced the launch of Operation Teen Proof to law enforcement officials, business owners and educators in Joliet Friday morning. Will County, Heineken USA and Kozol Brothers will distribute more than 5,000 driver's license verifiers to every establishment that sells liquor throughout Will County. The verifiers highlight the pearlescent print inscription that runs across the entire front of the Illinois driver's license. "Hopefully with some publicity, they'll be aware how important these are and how they can really serve as a tool to protest our kids from what we all know is a situation which leads to death in so many cases," said Glasgow. Flyers will also be distributed to businesses to let customers know they aggressively check driver's licenses and refuse to sell alcohol to minors.
