Tropicana casinos in Indiana and three other states are heading for bankruptcy. The company is expected to file for Chapter 11 protection sometime tonight. The bankruptcy filing covers nine properties, including the Casino Aztar in Evansville, Indiana.

Parent company Tropicana Entertainment LLC says its casinos will remain open and workers will keep their jobs.

Tropicana lost its New Jersey casino license in December after regulators said its Atlantic City casino wasn't up to state standards.

Company officials say that contributed to the casino-chain's financial problems.

The bankruptcy filing is expected to include properties in Nevada, Louisiana, Mississippi and Indiana.
