Para transit riders protest Pace service

CHICAGO They gathered Wednesday afternoon before a Pace board meeting in Arlington Heights. Riders say they are picked up late or not at all and drivers and dispatchers are not properly trained.

The riders spoke out before and during the meeting.

"We have reports of folks who have been kept in the vehicles four, even five hours, although three is the average. And they're not even allowed to get out and use the washroom. This isn't better service, this is worse service," said Sharon Lamp.

At the meeting, one board member acknowledged there had been some problems and said they were being addressed.
