Bricks cause roof collapse on South Side

Crews are investigating how a load of bricks fell on a warehouse roof causing part of it to collapse.It happened just before 8 p.m. Wednesday on the 2500-block of South State Street.

Fire department officials say the bricks were piled on an adjoining building.

No one was inside the building. There are no reports of injuries.

The department of buildings inspectors is now assessing the damage.
