The salon is located at 4518 South Cottage Grove,
one of the few businesses on an entire block which is
filled with vacant lots and properties that await urban
renewal. Because the business is situated in the heart
of a community that is on the rise, but has not yet
risen, the amount of traffic trickling through the doors
was not enough for Sensual Steps' determined owner.
Nicole believes that women deserve to be pampered,
catered to, and treated like royalty inside of the doors
of the salon, but the implementation of a wonderful
new invention takes the store outside of the
Bronzeville community and expands its presence
throughout the Metropolitan Chicagoland area.
Thinking outside of the box to attract more
customers to the salon, Nicole developed the Sensual
Steps Shoe Soiree "Heels On Wheels," where a lavish,
pink wrapped Hummer with elegant carpet and vibrant
lights will pull up to any door step. This marketing
design tantalizes guests with appetizers and wine,
along with gentlemen representatives to help women
make the perfect selection. Guests state that Nicole's
innovative business provides "one of the most
thrilling, exhilarating and unparalleled shoe
experiences to date.
Nicole Jones, proprietor of Sensual Steps Shoe Salon is an ordinary
woman accomplishing extraordinary things. A graduate of DePaul
University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and
Masters Degree in Urban Studies, she has also earned the Urban Public
Policy Certificate of Graduate Studies at the University of Illinois.
Nicole is the recipient of many awards and accolades, and has
been an active community advocate for over fifteen years. She is
committed to revolutionizing altruistic partnerships among businesses,
passionately dedicating time to improve the lives of others and
continuing to build viable, sustainable, and quality businesses within
the community. As an active Bronzeville Chamber of Commerce
(BCC) member, she works to recruit businesses into the organization
and encourages engagement. She fosters solid working relationships
with the businesses and develops networking opportunities that
included everyone.
