A car plunged off a bridge in the southwest suburbs sending the driver to the hospital Saturday morning.

Investigators say the vehicle went off the bridge at 69th and Cicero in Bedford Park and landed in a ravine partially submerged in water.

Firefighters had to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

The driver was transported to Christ Hospital.

The condition of the victim is not yet known.

A second crash happened at the same location when another vehicle crashed into a squad car.

No officers were injured.
