Local 8th grader makes nat'l bee finals

An eighth grader from River Forest has made it through the semifinals of the National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.Thirteen-year-old Rose Sloan attends Roosevelt Middle School.

The spelling bee finals air Friday night at 7 p.m. on ABC7.

She made it to the top 12 by spelling the word pruritus.
