Chicago school children take vow of non-violence

More Chicago school children are taking a pledge to help stop the violence in their community.Students at Bass Elementary, 1140 W. 66th St., in Chicago's Englewood community took an oath to use words, not violence, to settle problems with others and to avoid touching or using a gun.

The children also received ribbons they will pass out in their neighborhoods to encourage others to join them in the pledge.

The effort was arranged by the Black Star Project.
