A Chicago police officer is recuperating after she was accidentally shot by her partner on the city's South Side Friday night. Police say the officers were responding to a call regarding a pit bull at West Cullerton and Morgan Street in the Pilsen neighborhood.
When they arrived, police say the dog charged them. When one officer attempted to shoot the dog, he accidentally shot his partner in the leg.
The pit bull was killed during the incident.
The injured officer was taken to the hospital where she is listed in good condition.
