Red wine could protect against aging

The effects described in the PLoS ONE journal appeared to mimic those produced by eating a very low calorie diet known to prolong life.

Scientists say what was most striking in this study on mice was how the Resveratrol blocked the decline in heart function typically associated with aging. However, you would have to drink literally gallons of wine, and that's not recommended. But the hope is scientists will be able to develop something that would mimic these effects in humans.
