Hundreds of law enforcement officers gathered Tuesday in Chicago for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Officers from city, county, state and federal agencies met Tuesday morning in the parking lot of Malcolm X College for a kick-off ceremony.

For Tuesday's leg of the relay runners went through numerous Chicago neighborhoods before finishing at Route 83 and Harlem in southwest suburban Palos Heights.

The run ends Friday evening at Illinois State University, the site of the Special Olympics summer games.
