Former Bear pleads guilty to fraud

In court Tuesday, Roland Harper admitted he and Aidan Monahan took part in a scheme to fraudulently obtain a one-and-a-half million dollar contract with Chicago Public Schools.

Harper wore number 35 when he played running back for the Bears for eight seasons.

Prosecutors say he allowed his company to be used as a front to satisfy a minority requirement by public schools.

Monahan ran a landscape company and claimed to be using Harper as a subcontractor.

Both Harper and Monahan pleaded guilty to mail fraud. They now face prison time.
