The defense only called one witness to the stand thursday. The jury did not hear any testimony from Rencher.
The prosecution did call several bank tellers to testify that Rencher was the man responsible for the holdups.
In one robbery, prosecutors say, Rencher wore a prison guard uniform that he used to escape the Cook County Jail.
Closing arguments are expected to get underway Monday morning.
