Police barriers removed from housing complex

The Twelve Oaks Apartments had 13 entrances. But after reports of criminal activity in recent months officers closed all but one of the entrances.

Some residents argued the blockade was not needed. But police said it is working. The city planned to take them down Friday. But the owner of Twelve Oaks filed a lawsuit seeking a restraining order to have the roadblocks removed.

The police department began taking them down Tuesday afternoon.
