A Forest View police officer was the first on the scene. One of the people involved in the fight apparently started attacking the officer with a crutch. Police say that officer had no choice but to shoot the man.
Cook County Public Integrity Unit is investigating.
The man who was shot by police was taken to Loyola Medical Center in critical condition.
