Investigators say it all began with police responding to a call of shots fired in the 6100 block of South Kedzie. Officers say they were confronted by a man armed with a gun. An exchange of gunfire followed and the suspect was shot. He later died at the hospital. No officers were hurt.
The shooting is now being investigated by the Independent Police Review Authority. The other shooting involving an officer happened Friday night following a traffic stop and foot chase. That suspect was last reported to be hospitalized in serious condition.
