Blagojevich calls special session

Governor Rod Blagojevich has convened a two-day special session for the Illinois General Assembly starting Wednesday.

Taxpayers will be footing part of the bill.

When adding up the mileage reimbursement, meals, lodging and staff expenses, the cost to taxpayers to the special session are estimated to top $80,000.

The governor wants lawmakers to work on finding new ways to generate revenue for the state budget or he says he will have to make over $1 billion in cuts.
