A 12-year-old girl from Gary, Indiana, is recovering from a six-hour operation at a Chicago hospital. Doctors at the University of Chicago Comer's Hospital removed a bullet from behind Arbriana Turner's left eye.

Arbriana was shot in the face outside her home June 28. Twenty-two-year-old John Johnson and 17-year-old Keon Neely have been charged in the shooting.

Friends of the family say Arbriana has partial vision in the left eye and will need therapy as well as more surgeries to repair the area around the eye.
