Cop in wheelchair beating won't be fired

A videotape from 2005 shows Officer William Cozzi hitting 60-year-old Randle Miles multiple times. Cozzi pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery charges in Cook County court and received 18 months probation.

Because of Cozzi's exemplary record for over a decade before the incident, the Chicago Police Board suspended him, but the police department requested that Cozzi be fired. The judge agreed with the board.

Cozzi still faces criminal charges in federal court.
