CHICAGO --The city council approved a plan to dramatically expand Chicago's network of surveillance camera. Surveillance cameras will start appearing on the city's street sweepers and a revolutionary video-link will add private-sector cameras to the city's vast video network.
Businesses, high-rises and even private homes could share video with the city's 9-1-1 center.
Some call the program is intrusive.
The American Civil Liberties Union is reacting coolly to plan.
