Two killed at aviation convention in Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. The homebuilt Lancair Legacy crashed Thursday while attempting to land at Wittman Regional Airport, where the Experimental Aircraft Association is holding its annual convention.

EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski says the two-seat plane stalled on its final approach and crashed just short of the airport's east-west runway.

The airplane landed upside down in the grass. Emergency workers are trying to remove the crash victims from the plane.

The airport's north-south runway remains open.
